Apple is working on the first foldable iPhone, scheduled for release in 2026.

Apple has begun production of foldable OLED displays in collaboration with Samsung Display for what will be its first foldable iPhone , expected to be released in 2026. The device will feature a 7.8-inch internal display and a 5.5″ external secondary display, similar to a notebook -style design . Between 6 and 8 million units will be manufactured initially, opting for a form factor without a visible crease.
✅ Why does it matter? This will be one of the biggest design leaps in iPhone history, looking to compete with the Galaxy Z Fold and Pixel Fold.
